House Church
What is a Refuge Hill House Church?
A community of people seeking to live out the vision and mission of our church by being with Jesus, becoming like him, and doing what he did - together. It is a regular rhythm of meeting together while being intentional about doing life together. House churches come together to open God’s Word, to have fellowship, to break bread, and to pray. (Acts 2:42)
House Church Mission
We believe the house church is a vehicle of discipleship that fosters our upward relationship with God, our inward relationship with one another, and our outward relationship with the rest of the world.
God’s Word
A commitment to regular content time with God’s Word as the source of the discussion. It’s not an intensive Bible Study to only gain knowledge, but it’s an exploration of God’s Word with the end of transformation in our hearts. It could be as simple as reflecting on the past week’s sermon and asking “What is God saying?” and “What am I going to do about it?”.
Breaking Bread
Sharing a meal together is an opportunity for service, love, and unity and it gives further opportunity for fellowship and genuine community.
Fellowship
A House Church community is enriched when people get together for fun, sharing Jesus stories, serving together, and engaging in meaningful conversations about life and spiritual formation.
Prayer
Praying together as a House Church is an opportunity to be aligned with God and his kingdom purposes and express a dependence on him in every way.
